Wet weather expected to continue in St. Lawrence County through Friday

Boy, is it turning out to be a wet early summer in St. Lawrence County.

As if we haven’t had enough rain in recent days, more is expected all this week.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 30 to 60 percent chance of rain or thunderstorms every day through Friday.

Daytime highs are predicted to be in the high 70s to low 80s, with overnight lows in the high 50s to low 60s.

Here is the National Weather Service forecast for the next seven days:

• Tonight A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Calm wind. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Monday A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 79. North wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Monday Night A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Cloudy, with a low around 62. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Tuesday A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8am and noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 77. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Tuesday Night A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 62. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

• Wednesday A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
