Wet is the word this weekend in St. Lawrence County.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a good chance of rain or snow through Sunday night.

Chance of rain, snow or sleet is 80 percent tonight, with low temperatures around 33 degrees in the center of the county, the weather service says. Expected new snow and sleet accumulation is up to a half-inch.

On Saturday, showers are likely, mainly before 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy skies, with a high temperature near 45 is predicted. The day should be windy, with a south wind between 20 and 30 miles per hour, and gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent, but rainfall is expected to be less than a tenth of an inch. Saturday night, look for a chance of rain and snow showers before 10 p.m., then a chance of snow showers. Lows will be around 18. Breezy conditions will continue, with a west wind between 16 and 26 mph, and gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

On Sunday, chance of snow showers is 50 percent. Skies will be cloudy. High temperatures will be near 20. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Sunday night, chance of precipitation is 50 percent, with snow showers possible.
