Weather service issues hazardous weather outlook, thunderstorms possible in St. Lawrence County

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook, as thunderstorms capable of producing high winds are possible today.

The storms are most likely to arrive late afternoon and in the evening.

Showers are likely today with up to three-quarters of an inch of rain possible. The wet weather will stick around into Wednesday before clearing up, forecasters said.

Temperatures will remain high for most of the week with highs expected in the mid 80s.

A seven-day forecast follows:

Today: Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 72. Southeast wind around 7 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3am, then showers likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 64. West wind 9 to 11 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. West wind 5 to 9 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind around 6 mph.

Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 5 to 7 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light southwest wind.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind 3 to 5 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. South wind 5 to 9 mph.
