We have a hot weekend in store, and cooler temperatures and a chance of showers for the first part of the work week.

High pressure will strengthen across the Northeast through the upcoming weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Outside of the chance of an isolated late day shower or storm, mainly to our east, hot and dry weather is expected through Sunday, with highs approaching 90.

A cold front will push slowly through the region on Monday and Tuesday, with a more significant threat of showers and thunderstorms.
