A pretty nice day is on tap for the North Country as high pressure over southern Ontario and Quebec slowly slides southeastward through the region.

The weather in the North Country will be sunny and warm today, clear and cool tonight, and partly sunny and warm with a slight chance of afternoon showers Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

While there might be an increase in cloud cover through the day today, it will probably be in the form of puffy fair weather cumulus mainly over the higher terrain.

Look for a high near 80 on Monday and an increasing chance of rain through the week.
