Warm weather through the evening may turn to clouds with chance of rain in St. Lawrence County

Clear skies over the North Country today will give way to clouds and a better-than-even chance of rain tomorrow and tomorrow night, according to the National Weather Service.

High pressure will continue to provide the region with clear and dry conditions along with above normal temperatures through tonight, before a cold front brings showers and a few isolated thunderstorms tomorrow.

High pressure returns with clear skies for the weekend and maybe Monday too before another batch of clouds and rain is predicted.

The NWS forecast for the St. Lawrence Valley and northwestern Adirondacks:

This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph after midnight.

Friday: A slight chance of showers before 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1pm and 5pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 75. South wind 7 to 16 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning.

Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 39.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 67.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 71.
