CANTON -- More than 190 Alzheimer's research supporters from St. Lawrence County raised nearly $39,000 Sunday at Partridge Run Golf and Country Club.
The annual Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk raised $38,919 to fund Alzheimer's care, support and research.
The walk topped the previous year's record-setting total of more than $33,000.
Through 6 p.m. Sunday, Dale Grant was the top fundraiser with $2,325 and the Commercial Press Forget-Me-Nots were the top corporate team at $1,295.
United Journey, the team from United Helpers, was the top health related team with $4,515, while Memory Keepers was the top family and friends team at $3,762.
This year, instead of crowning the top fundraising individuals and team after the walk, the local Alzheimer’s Association chapter is extending its deadline for fundraising through November 1.
Walkers can continue submitting money to Chapter offices and online at mwstlaw.kintera.org, where they can also track their standings.
The mission of the Alzheimer's Association Central New York Chapter is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
