WADDINGTON -- Waddington Town Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss the upcoming Bassmasters tournament, NYPA payments and a River Agency grant.
Council will be discuss possible contributions for the Bassmaster’s Elite Series fishing tournament that will be held in Waddington in July.
This will be the second elite series tournament to be held in the area. The last event in 2013, generated millions according to a Clarkson student study.
Town council will also discuss a St. Lawrence River Valley Redevelopment Agency grant for improvements to the Old Town Hall. The town received a $30,000 grant from the River Agency in May of 2013. That project included installation of a lift and staircase between the lower and main floors; construction of a sidewalk to the side entrance providing access to a new interior ramp on the lower level; and renovations on the lower floor.
Other business to be discussed includes the New York Power Authority’s Operations and Maintenance payments, contract to hold St. Lawrence County harmless for highway work and bonding for a solar project.
