OGDENSBURG – Waddington Mayor Janet Otto-Cassada will kick off the Ogdensburg City Council meeting with a presentation regarding the 2018 Bass Elite Series.
An earlier appearance from the mayor was canceled due to inclement weather.
The Bass Elite Series will be held in Waddington Aug. 23-26. The small town has become a regular stop for the tournament. Last year more than 100 anglers competed for $100,000 prize.
At last year’s event the Bassmaster organization calculated 32,000 people attended throughout the entire four days. In addition to that, Bassmaster officials said they had 8 million online hits on their website throughout the four days.
The town holds a variety of events including live music, craft fairs and helicopter rides during the tournament.
While the event is based in Waddington, anglers travel to as far as Rochester while fishing the river.
The Ogdensburg city council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at city hall.
