WADDINGTON -- Tom Rausch of Waddington, who recently got a leashed dog tracking license, is offering to help hunters track wounded deer.
He claims that he and his dogs can do a better job finding the animals than people fanning out in the woods.
"When tracking a wounded deer, if you lose blood, it's best to back out and call me. Never do a grid search with friends,” Rausch said. “By doing this you are spreading the blood track in all directions, making it difficult if not impossible for the dog to follow the right track."
He says he and his dog, Luna can also track bear.
Other than accepting donations for gas, Rausch says he doesn't charge for tracking.
