WADDINGTON -- For the third consecutive year Waddington has received a prize in the World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town contest.
Waddington will receive $3,500 for winning the most votes in the northeast region.
Waddington placed second in the contest in 2011 and 2012, bringing the town's total winnings over the last three years to $13,500.
This year the contest awarded winners from five regions rather than the top three towns.
The top prize of $25,000 went to the Western New York town of Pointe Breeze, which resides on Lake Ontario, between Buffalo and Rochester.
Waddington has used past prizes to fund the Waddington Fish and Game Club, FISHCAP, the St. Lawrence River Walleye Association and the St. Lawrence Valley Sportsmen’s Club.
