WADDINGTON -- The town of Waddington is making a third try for a win in the Ultimate Fishing Town USA contest.
Waddington placed second in the contest in 2011 and 2012.
The grand prize winner will receive a $25,000 donation and the opportunity to be featured on the World Fishing Network.
Five regional prizes of $3,500 will be awarded to runners-up.
Waddington was in sixth place in the first round of voting Friday with over 350 votes.
Voting for the first round ends May 3, with second round voting to begin immediately thereafter. The second round will close May 24.
Individual email addresses may vote once every six hours per town, or four times in a 24-hour period.
Waddington has used past prizes to fund the Waddington Fish and Game Club, FISHCAP, the St. Lawrence River Walleye Association and the St. Lawrence Valley Sportsmen’s Club.

The winning town will be announced June 4.
