WADDINGTON – Waddington American Legion recently donated funding to the Wounded Warrior Project.

The organization is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of Sept. 11, 2001.

It operates as a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization

In December the Waddington American Legion #420 hosted the Waddington Homecoming Christmas Celebration, which saluted the U.S. Armed Forces and raised $334 for the Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures.

The Legion #420 added $166 to make the final total $500. The money was presented to Wounded Warriors board member Juddy Plumb at a recent event at the Legion, by Brian Norton, an organizer of the fundraiser and Christmas celebration.

In November, the Waddington American Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary also donated $500 to the Wounded Warrior project.

In return, Plumb presented Jill Rheaume, president of the Ladies Auxiliary and Legion Commander Michael McIntosh with a plaque of appreciation.
