Clarkson University women’s hockey standout Vanessa Gagnon has reached the finals in an online contest for the favorite NCAA Elite 89 Award winner.

Gagnon, a member of CU’s NCAA Championship women’s hockey team and a 4.0 student in the MBA program, is one of 10 finalists among entries from all 89 NCAA championships this past school year.

People may vote once each day until 8 tonight at http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/honoring-achievement-and-field to help determine the winner.

The recipient of the Elite 89 award for the 2014 NCAA Division I Women's Hockey Championship, Gagnon is a fourth year graduate student at Clarkson.

She finished her undergraduate degree in innovation and entrepreneurship during her junior year with a 3.95 and is now one of only two students to maintain a perfect 4.0 in Clarkson's MBA program. She is also pursuing an additional certification in environmental management.
