Updated at 8:41 a.m. Sept. 24 to correct spelling of Volo Aviation.

OGDENSBURG – The Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority has hired Volo Aviation, LLC, to manage ground services such as fueling for aircraft.

“This agreement is important as it provides new professionally-run aviation services to the expanded airport safely, efficiently, and effectively OBPA Executive Director Wade Davis said. “All professionally run-airports have these types of agreements and with OGS’s business expanding, the time was right to add this new service to the international airport.”

Under the agreement Volo Aviation will be responsible for management and operation of the airport’s general aviation “fixed based operation.” Volo will also provide “above- and below-wing services” for Allegiant Air, which is set to begin commercial air service from Ogdensburg to Oct. 5.

Allegiant will offer flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando Florida.

"We are thrilled to have been awarded this contract and look forward to working with the team in

Ogdensburg," states Brian Ciambra, Volo Aviation's senior vice president. "We have extensive experience operating FBOs and are very knowledgeable about the aviation market. We are confident that we can grow the business at OGS while at the same time enhancing the customer experience."

Volo will offer comprehensive services to Allegiant as well as the general aviation community, a news release says. Ciambra noted, "Initially we will be responsible for ramp operations such as fueling, and deicing the aircraft. We think there is outstanding growth potential at OGS."

The Ogdensburg International Airport has undergone a major expansion project. In addition to extending the runway to 6,400', the passenger terminal was renovated and a 425-space parking lot was constructed. The first Allegiant flight from Orlando is scheduled to arrive at OGS on Oct. 5 and will be departing OGS for Orlando later that same day. Allegiant will offer 4 direct flights a week.

Wade Davis, OBPA Executive Director, stated, "We are extremely pleased to be working with a high quality company like Volo Aviation and believe this will be a mutually beneficial relationship. Volo officials share our vision for making this airport successful.

Ciambra added, "The Ogdensburg Airport has a lot of potential for both commercial and general aviation and our initial challenge is to make the aviation community aware of what this airport has to offer."

OBPA did not immediately disclose how much Volo would be paid under the agreement.
