POTSDAM – The National String Project at Crane invites interested students 7-10 years old to join a new beginning viola class to be given twice a week at the Crane School of Music. Classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:10 p.m.; the upcoming term runs Jan. 30 through May 16.
Tuition for the community outreach program is $70 per term. A guardian must be present at every lesson to learn to support the student’s study at home.
Enrollment is limited, so contact us before Jan. 18; a waiting list will be created.
To apply for the viola class, contact co-director Nancy Conley at conleyns@potsdam.edu
Now in its 12th year, The National String Project’s mission is to expand string education opportunities in the North Country while providing teaching experiences for university students at the Crane School of Music.
School-aged children interested in studying violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp in the fall may apply now for a place on their waiting list.
