POTSDAM – The village will soon spend $5,500 to purchase new body armor vests for police.
Mayor Ron Tischler said the purchase will replace about half of the vests the department now has.
He said the older vests “have reached their life expectancy.”
The village board this week approved spending funds in the police department budget to pay for the purchase, the mayor said.
