POTSDAM -- Potsdam village officials want to replace the nearly 50-year-old wastewater treatment plant on Lower Cherry Street and are applying for federal and state grants to get it done.
“Proposed upgrades would rehabilitate and modernize the plant to increase operating efficiency and meet the demand for wastewater treatment in an environmentally responsible manner,” according to a news release from the Potsdam Office of Planning and Development.
Village officials say they have notified various agencies of their intent to be lead agency for the environmental review.
Objections to that must be filed by Oct. 26.
