MASSENA -- U. S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will tour St. Lawrence Seaway facilities and meet with employees Thursday.
The announcement from USDOT said that LaHood will see many of the improvements that have been made in the locks and facilities through the Seaway’s Asset Renewal Program for infrastructure rehabilitation.
"These crucial infrastructure investments are creating jobs in the region, and ensuring that the Saint Lawrence Seaway system is prepared to meet the needs of the future," the announcement said.
After the tour, LaHood will hold a press conference at the SLSDC Vessel Traffic Control Center at Eisenhower Lock.
