Canton’s Hugh C. Williams High School has come in at 98th in the state, according to U.S. News and World Report’s rankings of high schools around the country.
Williams High merits a “silver medal,” according to U.S, News, along with several other high schools in the county.
Massena Senior High School ranks 137th in the state; Potsdam Senior High ranks 187th; Hermon-DeKalb comes in at 196th; and Norwood-Norfolk School ranks 230th in the state.
They all receive a “silver medal” ranking.
Schools in St. Lawrence County earning “bronze medals,” but not numerically ranked, are Clifton-Fine, Lisbon and Morristown high schools.
U.S. News used data from 22,000 schools around the country, looking at how students were performing relative to state averages, how “disadvantaged” students were performing, and “college readiness,” among other criteria.
