OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg residents can soon find up-to-date assessments and tax maps on the St. Lawrence County Government website.
Ogdensburg Assessor Bruce Green said St. Lawrence County has always received the final assessments from the city, but now those maps will be current.
"Previously we submitted the final rolls at in August and that's what they had until the following year," he said. "Now they will be updated as we make changes," he said.
Green said the site will also include property maps.
Green said the same information have been available on the city's website. He said the information is often requested by phone calls.
"This just provides people with one more way to get up-to-date information," he said.
Green said when he became Ogdensburg's assessor the information wasn't as readily available through St. Lawrence County Real Property, but his plan to include the current rolls on the county and city websites was supported by Mayor William Nelson and other councilors.
"It's a good thing to have." Green said.
Green also serves as the assessor for the towns of DeKalb and Claire.
