Power was restored to nearly 600 homes across St. Lawrence County this morning, but about 100 residences in the North Country were impacted by heavy rain and strong winds, according to National Grid.
The hardest hit area right now appears to be the Piercefield area, as 92 homes are without power there.
There are fewer than five homes impacted in Parishville, Canton and Brasher, National Grid said.
Power should be restored to the above areas by 11:15 a.m.
Earlier this morning over 500 National Grid customers in Canton were in the dark, but power has since been restore, according to reports. Nearly 200 in Hermon lost power but it has been fixed since that time.
A wind advisory is in effect for St. Lawrence County until 8 p.m. with winds of gusts as high as 50 mph expected, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
More power outages are expected throughout the day, NWS says.
