Unseasonably high temperatures in St. Lawrence County could continue through at least the coming week, with highs predicted above freezing for the next few days.

But meteorologists at the National Weather Service say snow could hit between Friday night and Sunday morning.

NWS forecasters are calling for the temperature tonight to fall to the high 20s, with mostly cloudy skies in Massena and Ogdensburg and a 20 percent chance of snow everywhere else in St. Lawrence County.

Highs on Saturday could rise to 39 degrees, the NWS says, with up to 40 percent chances of snow in all areas. Nighttime temperatures could drop to 25, the NWS says, with cloudy skies in Ogdensburg and a 30 percent chance of snow elsewhere.

Sunday brings a 30 percent chance of snow then sun to Potsdam, Canton and Star Lake, with decreasing clouds in all other areas. Temperatures are predicted to reach highs of 35 degrees.

Sunday night is forecast to be partly cloudy with lows around 12 degrees, giving way to a 33-degree and mostly cloudy Monday.

Friday night - A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming south after midnight.

Saturday - A chance of snow showers before noon, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers between noon and 1pm, then a slight chance of rain showers after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Southwest wind 6 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday night - A chance of rain showers before 11pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 11pm and 2am, then a chance of snow showers after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 26. Southwest wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday - A 30 percent chance of snow showers before 9am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 33. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Sunday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 12. Northeast wind around 6 mph.

Monday - Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. East wind 7 to 10 mph.
