A strong cold front shifting through the North Country this morning will provide an unseasonably cold, cloudy and brisk day with temperatures steady or slowing falling through the 50s, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Along with cold temps, will be strong winds of up to 30 mph and numerous scattered afternoon showers, the service says.
There is a 30 percent chance of showers today, mainly after 1 p.m., with mostly cloud skies and a high near 55 degrees, NWS says. West winds around 16 mph and gusts around 26 mph are expected.
The overnight low will drop to around 49 with winds of 8 to 13 mph and gusts around 23 mph, the service says.
The average temp for this time of year is about 64 degrees, NWS says.The hottest June 12 day in St. Lawrence County took place in 2005 when highs reached 89 degrees and the record low of 38 degrees was recorded in 1980.
Monday will warm up a little with a high of 65 expected, with an overnight low into the mid 40s, the service says.
St. Lawrence County will dry out over the next week with temps expected to be in the 70s and 80s daily and dry conditions forecasted, NWS says.
