Two women from Rensselaer Falls, Stockholm arrested in underage alcohol sting, but 20 other businsses pass

Two St. Lawrence Count residents were arrested May 29 from an underage drinking initiative check of 22 retails stores and establishments from around the county, according to state police.

Troopers say they sent an underage volunteer into each business in an attempt to have the clerk or bartender sell or serve the minor alcohol.

Those charged with one count of prohibited sale of alcohol under the age of 21 included:

Connie S. McCallister, 51, Rensselaer Falls, was charged at McAllister’s Wine and Liquor, 213 Rensselaer St., in Rensselaer Falls. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear at the Canton Town Court June 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Sharon Gushlaw, 25, Stockholm, was cited at the Gandy Dancer Bar, 49 Mechanic St., in Norwood. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear at the Potsdam Town Court June 19 at 1 p.m.
