POTSDAM -- Two people new to the Potsdam political scene have announced they are running for the Potsdam Town Council in this November’s election.
Sarah Lister and Connor Newcomb both introduced themselves at the July 11 town board meeting.
Lister has an MBA from Clarkson and a bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Binghamton. She has lived in Potsdam for two years. She will be seeking a place on the ballot with the Democratic Party.
Newcombe is also believed to be running as a Democrat.
The four-year terms of two sitting town councilors are expiring this year.
Incumbent board member Judy Rich, a Democrat, is expected to run again.
Incumbent Democrat James Grant will not be running again this year.
