MASSENA -- Two people are charged with felonies, one of whom is jailed without bail, after police said they were found with weapons reported stolen from a home on Stoughton Avenue.
John P. Maxwell, 29, listed as living at Bob's Motel, Massena is charged with third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree burglary, police said.
Donna L. Domain, 27, of 87 Water Street, Massena is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.
They were arrested by Massena Police each arraigned in Massena Town Court by judge Joe Brown. Maxwell was remanded to the county jail in Canton without bail, police said. Doman was released with orders to reappear on a later date, police said.
The stolen weapons were found hidden in a garbage can and sleeping bag in the area of Roosevelt Street and Liberty Avenue by DPW workers picking up trash.
The guns included a Remington .30-06, a Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun, a lever action .22, a .35 Remington lever action, an AR-15 and a Ruger 10/.22. They are also accused of taking a wooden heart containing the alleged victim’s father’s ashes, knives worth $150 and a flatscreen TV, police said.
