All three candidates for New York's 21st Congressional District – Republican Elise Stefanik, Democrat Aaron Woolf, and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello – have two more televised debates scheduled before Election Day.
Voters will have the chance to hear their stances on some of the issues when they meet for a debate Wednesday, Oct. 15 on WPTZ, Channel 5 in Plattsburgh, airing live from 7 to 8 p.m., and can be streamed online at wptz.com or on a mobile device.
Their third and final debate, to be recorded at WWNY-tv in Watertown in the afternoon Tuesday, Oct. 21, and will be broadcast at 7 p.m. by WWNY TV, WPBS DT and Mountain Lake PBS, and by North Country Public Radio.
"We're pleased to once again join with our public TV and radio partners in presenting the candidates for Congress," said WWNY TV general manager Cathy Pircsuk. "We look forward to a lively discussion of the issues."
In the last debate, Republican Elise Stefanik, Democrat Aaron Woolf and Green Party candidate Matt Funiciello will put their cases directly to the voters of the North Country congressional district, and then answer questions from David Sommerstein of North Country Public Radio, Thom Hallock of Mountain Lake PBS and Jeff Cole of WWNY and WPBS. They'll be asked questions about national issues and issues specific to the North Country, according to a press release from North Country Public Radio.
Brian Ashley, co-host of WWNY’s evening news broadcast, will act as host and moderator of the debate.
The debate will air Tuesday at 7 p.m., and will also be available for online listening at www.ncpr.org and at www.wwnytv.com.
