MASSENA -- Village police charged two area residents over the weekend who were turned over to them by Malone-based state troopers on outstanding burglary warrants.
Melissa B. Wheeler, 27, of Brushton and William A. Beyers, 26, of North Lawrence, are facing one count each of third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
Court documents state the pair is alleged to have entered Massena Wal-Mart on an unspecified date and stolen a $499 4,200-watt generator, makeup, and other various items. Both were under a court order directing them not to enter the store as a result of a Dec. 14 larceny.
Beyers was charged Saturday, arraigned and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. Wheeler is being held in the county lockup awaiting arraignment.
