Two injured, one charged with DWI after crashes on slick roads in Potsdam, Russell, Parishville, Pierrepont, DeKalb, Macomb

Two people were reported hurt in separate accidents and one man was charged with drunk driving as state police responded Saturday to numerous crashes on snow-covered roads in Potsdam, Russell, Parishville, Pierrepont, DeKalb and Macomb.

One person was reported injured following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Hwy. 11 at the Morley-Potsdam Road in Potsdam. Drivers were Carlene M. McCargar, 55, Potsdam, and Timothy J. Orologio, 58, Norwood.

In the nearby Franklin County town of Waverly, one person was reported hurt following a one-vehicle accident reported at 12:39 p.m. on NYS Hwy. 458 at the Days Mills Road. Driver was Kevin D. Talcott, 40, of Potsdam, police said.

In Russell, Cody P. Butler, 23, Canton, was charged with driving while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs following an accident on County Route 25 that was reported at 4:45 a.m. He was released to a third party, police said.

Police were notified at 12:24 p.m. of a two-vehicle crash on the Pumpkin Hill Road at the Birch Road in Parishville. Drivers were Keith T. Randall, 56, Potsdam, and Anne M. Snell, 33, Potsdam. No injuries were reported.

At 12:58 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision on County Route 24 at the Selleck Road in Pierrepont. Drivers were Tayler John Chapman, 18, Colton, and Lorene W. Royce, 65, Canton. No injuries were reported.

At 1:44 p.m., police received a report of a two-vehicle crash on the Flat Rock Road at County Route 34 in Potsdam. Drivers were Adam J. Widener, 18, Canton, and Kayla P. Viau, 22, North Lawrence. No one was reported hurt, police said.

A one-vehicle property damage accident on NYS Hwy. 58 at the Pine Hill Road in Macomb was reported at 10:57 a.m. Driver was Karen M. Martin, 38, Ogdensburg, police said. No injuries were reported.

At 12:04 p.m., police responded to a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Hwy. 11 at the Jeffers Road in DeKalb. Driver was Claire L. Kinnen, 24, Canton. No injuries were reported, police said.
