CANTON – Two houses are being knocked down on East Main Street to make room for a new Rite Aid drug store.
The new store’s address is 97 E. Main St., just west of the SeaComm Federal Credit Union site.
The store, at 11,180 square feet, will be more than double the size of the current store, which is in the Midtown Plaza, according to Canton Code Enforcement Officer Russell Lawrence IV.
The project cost is listed as $1.2 million.
Michael Busch, who is overseeing the project for general contractor Mulvey Construction of Lockport, says the plan is have the work done by “about the end of November.”
A.J. Miller Construction of Waddington is a subcontractor on the job, Busch said.
Busch said the exterior will feature stone wainscoting.
