MASSENA -- State police are investigating a snowmobile accident that sent two children to the hospital, one of whom is being treated for a head injury at Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, Vt.
Troopers declined releasing the youths’ identities because of their age. They said a 10-year-old was driving the snowmobile at a residence on County Rte. 46 around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, carrying a 7-year-old passenger.
The driver lost control and struck an outdoor deck and the back wall of the house, ejecting the passenger.
Massena Rescue Squad took the pair to Massena Memorial Hospital.
The 10-year-old was treated for a broken left wrist. The 7-year-old was sent from there to Fletcher-Allen for treatment of a head laceration and left arm injury.
