MASSENA -- Two people have been charged stemming from a Monday car crash that sent two adults and three children to the hospital.
The vehicle’s driver, Amy Gambaccini, 25, of Haskell St. is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of back seat passenger under age 4 without a child restraint seat and single counts of illegally passing a red light and child passenger between ages 4 and 8 with no seatbelt.
Veronica A. Gillespie, 29, of 2232 State Hwy. 420, Massena is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
On Monday afternoon, a vehicle driven by Gambaccini collided with a vehicle operated by Cathy Coughenor, 60, of Brasher Falls at Parker Avenue and East Orvis Street, police said.
Gambaccini's vehicle was also occupied by four children in the back seat, ages 2, 2, 4 and 11. Gillespie was in the front seat.
All three adults and two of the children were transported to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
