Two charged with drunk driving in Potsdam incidents, one after car allegedly drives through Collegiate Village fence, lands in pond

POTSDAM -- Two people were charged with drunk driving in separate incidents in Potsdam Saturday, with one property damage accident reported.

Kevin M. Green, 23, Brighton, Mass., was charged at 3:26 a.m. on Main Street, according to Potsdam police.

Green was ticketed for imprudent speed and charged with first offense driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with .17 percent blood alcohol content, police said.

Green was charged following a property damage accident in which he allegedly drove his vehicle through a fence at Collegiate Village, Outer Main Street, and into a pond, police said.

Adrian J. Heerema, 23, Doylestown, was charged at 2:17 a.m. on Pierrepont Avenue, according to Potsdam police.

Heerema was charged with failure to keep right, refusal to take a breath test, driving while intoxicated, and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .17 percent, police said.

He was charged after an officer observed him fail to keep right an initiated a traffic stop, police said.
