POTSDAM -- Two men face charges after St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies responded to a fight that ended with a gunshot Saturday at 12:30 a.m.
Gregory H. Spring, 52, of State Highway 56, Potsdam, was charged with one count of first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree menacing and third-degree assault.
Xaver Vanarsdale, 34, of the same address was charged with third-degree assault and criminal trespass.
Deputies say Vandersdale entered Spring's residence and refused to leave. Deputies said the incident led to a fight, in which both men suffered injuries.
Following the fight deputies say Spring "acquired a rifle and pointed the loaded firearm at Vanarsdale."
Spring then fired the weapon in close proximity of Vanarsdale, deputies said.
No injuries resulted from the gunshot, deputies said.
Both men were released on probation supervision
