Tropical Storm Andrea will pass near the New England coast Friday night and into Saturday morning, likely bringing more rainfall to the North Country, according to the National Weather Service.

The heaviest rainfall is expected to remain south of St. Lawrence County, and no flooding problems are currently expected, the service says.

In the meantime, a stationary front will remain over northern New York tonight, bringing with it steady rain, according to the service.

Rain is expected to continue into Friday morning, with heavy periods likely, the service says.

Rainfall totals will range from a half to one inch by noon Friday, with the heaviest amounts expected in northern St. Lawrence County, according to the service.

The service predicts that the front will move north Friday afternoon, causing the steady rain to shift to lighter showers, the service says.

The cooler temperatures will likely continue through Friday, with a high in the upper 50s to lower 60s in the forecast.
