POTSDAM -- Trillium Wellness Center, 42 1/2 Elm St., will host "All Births Childbirth Education," a four-week workshop series taught be Mary Michalek, doula.
Meetings will be Sunday afternoons, from Oct. 1- 22, from 2:30-4 p.m., "All Births” is an interactive and relaxed class, created to help pregnant women and their partners go beyond the basics presented in hospital classes. It is appropriate for those planning a hospital or a home birth.
Information presented will include: stay healthy, get ready for labor, how labor happens, how your birth partner can help, comfort techniques during labor, the first 24-48 hours after birth, what to expect postpartum, emotionally and physically, and how to care for the newborn. The fee for this class is $150, pre-registration is required.
