Tree planting begins in Canton; motorists asked to use caution near construction zone

(Photo and story provided by Nick Maneely of Canton)CANTON -- Drivers in Canton are asked to use caution as employees of North Country Garden Center plant trees in the downtown work zone.
Scott Leavine and Scott Buskey of North Country Garden Center, Plattsburgh are planting the new trees.
“We will be planting trees all day today on both sides of the street,” Buskey said. During this time, there will be limited parking along Main Street extending from the new Nice and Easy convenience store to the Park Street intersection.
Drivers are asked to be cautious as crews and machinery will be working in this area.
Leavine and Buskey are also planting Syringa and Elm Trees downtown to replace trees removed last year during the first phase of construction.
