RICHVILLE -- A structure fire left a trailer in ruins and three people receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
The Richville Fire Department says they and DeKalb firefighters responded to an 8:56 a.m. alarm of a fire at 154 County Rte. 18, which is owned by John Stoner.
They said an electrical outlet failure sparked the conflagration.
There were no injuries, but the trailer was a total loss, firefighters said.
Although Stoner had insurance on the trailer, his tenants, Katelyn Ferrer and Tyler Simnmons were not covered. Red Cross is assisting them while they get back on their feet, according to Richville firefighters.
Rensselaer Falls, Edwards, Russell and Canton fire departments were on stand-by. Richville Fire Department was back in service at 1:24 p.m., they said.
