Town of Potsdam swears in councilors, makes committee assignments

POTSDAM – Town Justice James Mason swore in two town council members at the board’s organizational meeting Jan. 9.

Sarah Lister was elected to serve in November, occupying the seat of former councilor James Grant who chose not to run again.

She was sworn in after the swearing in of returning councilor Judy Rich, who was elected in November to keep her seat on the board.

Councilor Ann Carvill was appointed as deputy supervisor as second to Supervisor Roland Beattie.

The board also approved committee appointments:

Audit Committees – Ann Carvill/Sarah Lister Judy Rich/Rose Rivezzi

Safety Committee – Judy Rich/Sarah Lister/Highway Superintendent John Keleher / Alternate Roland Beattie

Comprehensive Plan Committee /Climate Smart – Rose Rivezzi/Judy Rich / Alternate Sarah Lister

Recreation Committee – Rose Rivezzi and Sarah Lister /Alternate Roland Beattie

Infrastructure Committee – Ann Carvill/Rose Rivezzi/John Keleher /Alternate Roland Beattie

Budget Committee – Roland Beattie/Ann Carvill

Fire Contracts – Rose Rivezzi/Ann Carvill/Alternate Roland Beattie

Chamber of Commerce Representative – Rose Rivezzi/Alternate Sarah Lister
