PARISHVILLE -- The Town of Parishville Park recently purchased a locally made playground boat, with help from a St. Lawrence County Health Initiative grant.
The grant was issued through ’Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play in St. Lawrence County Project, a grant funded by the New York State Department of Health.’
“We decided to buy a locally made playground boat. At 25 feet in length, the boat comes with a rock wall, swings, fireman’s pole, and a slide to promote physical fitness while having fun. We’re really excited to have this new addition to our park. It’s great to have these opportunities made available by the Health Initiative. Kids just love the boat,” said Parishville Town Park Director Jeffery Woods.
Past grants from Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work & Play made to the Town of Parishville Park were rental ice skates, rental kayaks, and physical activity equipment for use by the summer recreation program. Additionally, the Town of Parishville Park is tobacco-free, making the park and beach a healthy destination for all.
