MALONE -- Titus Mountain is taking advantage of the most recent snowstorm and will be open for skiing and riding Thanksgiving Weekend, almost three weeks ahead of their planned opening date.

“We knew that opening early was a possibility, but it’s fantastic that the groomers and snowmakers have been able to capitalize so greatly on the snow bounty mother nature has given us,” said Brittany Taylor, director of marketing.

Titus plans to open Saturday for limited day skiing hours and is currently working their grooming staff and priming their snow-guns to be able to open as early as Friday, conditions permitting.

“We couldn’t have asked for better operating conditions,” said Zach White, general manager at Titus. “The heavy snow yesterday coupled with the light powder today is creating a great base and great conditions. I was in the groomer most of the morning and every trail we have been on so far is looking ready to open.”

With 14 inches of snow already on the mountain and another 9 inches forecasted in the coming days, the Thanksgiving Weekend opening will be the second-earliest opening that Titus has had in recent history. The earliest was November 22, 2014, just two years ago.

Conditions will be available for opening weekend each morning by visiting www.TitusMountain.com.

Titus Mountain is a locally owned and operated family ski center with three interconnected mountains, and 50 trails, glades, and features.

Open seven days a week and offering night skiing three nights a week, Titus Mountain has the longest ski day in New York. On-mountain services include two lodges, three dining areas, mountain rentals, ski and board tuning, and an IBC ski store.
