Posted

The possibility of strong thunderstorms today has prompted the National Weather Service to post a hazardous weather outlook for the North Country.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening as a cold front moves across the St. Lawrence Valley. The NWS says to expect them mainly between 4 and 11 p.m.

There are warnings about the possibility of lightning, heavy downpours, and strong winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

High temperatures today will be in the low 80s, and with high humidity, it will be muggy.

After the passage of the front, cooler temperatures are expected tonight, down into the 50s, and highs tomorrow only in the 70s under sunny skies.
