EDWARDS – Three Ogdensburg resident were sent to the hospital following a personal-injury accident on the River Road on Thursday evening, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Nathan G. Rapin, 37, was traveling north in a 2007 Hyundai when he lost control of his vehicle, drove through a stop sign, entered an intersection and exited the roadway where the vehicle struck a large tree stump, officers said.
The passengers inside Rapin’s vehicle were Sarah L. Ashley, 35 and Nicholas P. Caron, 34.
All three people were reportedly transported by Gouverneur rescue to Gouverneur Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Rapin was issued traffic tickets for speed not reasonable and prudent and failure to stop for a stop sign, deputies said.
His tickets are returnable to Edwards Town Court at a later date.
Deputies aid they were assisted at the scene by Gouverneur-based state police, the Edwards Fire Department and Edwards and Gouverneur rescue.
