POTSDAM – A Norfolk man was jailed in lieu of bail early this morning after attempting to flee police officers on foot, according to village police.
Stephen S. Grant, 25, was cited for resisting arrest, second degree obstructing governmental administration, two counts of criminal mischief, third degree aggravated unauthorized operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Police were called to the Aubuchon parking lot, 63 Market St., at 2:09 a.m. for a harassment complaint.
Police said when they located Grant, he fled on foot. Three officers joined the pursuit and Grant was taken into custody a short time later, police said.
Upon investigation, police said they discovered Grant was wanted by police on an arrest warrant in connection with an incident in November.
Grant was arraigned before village Justice Margaret Garner and sent to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $6,000 cash bail or $12,000 bail bond.
