OGDENSBURG -- State police say they charged three people on Saturday with drug sale counts at Ogdensburg Correctional Facility.
Leota E. Peyton, 24, of Shirley, N.Y. was charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and first-degree prison contraband, both felonies, and a misdemeanor count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She was ordered held pending court action, troopers said.
Earlier the same day at 8 a.m., state police say they charged Linda I. Leon, 37, of Staten Island with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of first-degree introducing dangerous prison contraband, all felonies. She was also charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor, and a state sanitary code violation, which is generally used to charge possession of synthetic marijuana.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, troopers say they charged Jennifer Pereya, 27, of New York City with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and first-degree introducing dangerous prison contraband.
Troopers did not say if Leon and Pereya were held or released.
Also on Saturday at Riverview Correctional Facility, troopers charged two people with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Yokaira H. Bautista, 22, of Carteret, N.J. was charged with the violation at 7:45 a.m. and Monica A. Santiago, 20, of New York City was charged at 8 a.m.
