MASSENA -- The Town of Massena has set two special town council meetings to deal with three proposals recently submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation by companies that want to provide Essential Air Service to the community.
At 3:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in town hall, the three EAS bidders, Cape Air, Gulfstream International, and Charter Air, will present their proposals. It is expected that at least two of the bidders will have their aircraft at Massena’s airport prior to the meeting, probably after 2 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in town hall, the board will hear comments from the public on the three proposals, and might decide which airline the town will support in its comments to the DOT.
The public and media are invited to both meetings, and comments are encouraged at the second meeting. Comments can also be submitted to the Town Supervisor’s Office by telephone at 769-3588 or via e-mail at supervisor@town.massena.ny.us.
