MASSENA – A third-place winning Powerball ticket in the Wednesday, Aug. 23 drawing was sold at Price Chopper.
The ticket means a $50,000 prize for the purchaser.
The Massena ticket was one of 32 third-place $50,000 Powerball tickets sold, said a press release from the lottery. The third-place winners matched the first four numbers drawn, plus the Powerball.
The winning numbers for the August 23 Powerball Drawing were: 06 – 07 – 16 – 23 – 26 and Powerball (04).
To play Powerball, players choose five numbers from a field of 1 to 69 plus one Powerball number from a separate field of 1 to 26.
Winning Powerball tickets at all prize levels may be cashed up to one year from the date of the drawing.
No one won the first place $758.7 million jackpot in Wednesday's drawing. There were two $1,000,000 prize winners from Manhattan and Cheektowaga.
