HANNAWA FALLS -- The second Verner M. Ingram Jr. Turkey Feast on Thanksgiving Day was a success, according to Bill Melchior, event organizer.
The generosity and hard work of some caring and involved local residents resulted in a good meal for 86 people at the Hannawa Falls Fire Department’s Hound’s Haven., Melchior said.
Bruce Clicquennoi and Annette Rovers from Ebens Hearth Restaurant donated their food preparation skills, while a local branch of a chain store donated three large turkeys. Donna Ober, Charlene Barton, Bridgette and Dan Manor and many others helped with setup, takedown, fund raising, decorating, donations and dessert.
“Thanks to all who helped out. We hope to continue this Thanksgiving Tradition for many years in the future,” Melchior said.
The event is named for the late Potsdam attorney Ingram Jr. “because he was the catalyst in making the first one happen. He also was extremely civic minded, often donating his legal profession at little or no cost,” Melchior said.
