St. Lawrence County residents will finally get a break from below zero temperatures this weekend.

Temperatures are expected to remain above zero through the weekend and early next week, with some snow showers expected Saturday.

A high pressure system from the western part of the state will move toward St. Lawrence County this afternoon, bringing with it continued cold and dry weather, according to the National Weather Service.

Light snow is possible in the southern part of the county tonight, but accumulation will be minimal, the service reports.

Another high-pressure system is expected to bring sunny and dry weather Sunday, but temperatures will remain below average, according to the service. Temperatures are forecasted to remain above zero degrees, however.

Weather should begin to warm up Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing the potential for mixed wintry precipitation, the service said.
